Burke extended their winning streak to ten on Thursday, bumping them up to 18-1. Everything went their way against the Boyd County Spartans as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Emmie Hausmann paced Burke's offense, picking up 17 kills. Hausmann got some help from Breckynn Pistulka and her 15 assists. Kyrie Matucha controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

As for Boyd County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since September 11th.

Boyd County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyla McCarthy, who had 20 digs. McCarthy is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Claire Reiman, who had 11 digs and five assists.

Burke wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Alcester-Hudson on the 4th. As for Boyd County, they will host Bloomfield on Tuesday.
