Baseball Recap: Carlin Find Success

Carlin hadn't done well against Round Mountain recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Railroaders blew past the Knights 20-13. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Railroaders' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Landon Maffo was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Tryston Martinez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with six stolen bases and five runs. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Anthony, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Carlin's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-17. As for Round Mountain, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

As of now, neither Carlin nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
