Baseball Game Preview: Weslaco Panthers vs. Edinburg Bobcats

For the second straight game, Weslaco will face off against Edinburg. The Panthers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Weslaco's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Edinburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Weslaco's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Edinburg. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since March 14th.

Weslaco's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Toby Perez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Perez has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Weslaco's win bumped their record up to 15-8-1. As for Edinburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
