Volleyball Recap: Ellah Smith Key Part of Team Effort in Red Dragons Win

The St. Albans Red Dragons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wirt County Tigers 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Dragons.

St. Albans' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ellah Smith led the charge by getting 15 assists and two blocks. That's the most assists Smith has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Taylor, who had four digs and three aces.

St. Albans' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Wirt County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

St. Albans and Wirt County will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Red Dragons will square off against rival South Charleston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Wirt County is set to take on their familiar foe Ritchie County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
