Basketball Recap: Rochester Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Khordell Gregory and Tanner Beal + How To Watch

Rochester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Tolono Unity. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rochester of the 59-52 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Rochester had strong showings from Tanner Beal, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards, and Khordell Gregory, who posted 12 points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Swaney, who scored five points and three steals.

Rochester's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Tolono Unity, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Rochester wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-28 defeat against Normal University on the 6th. As for Tolono Unity, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-50 loss against Teutopolis on the 6th.
