Basketball Game Preview: Goshen Central Gladiators vs. Minisink Valley Warriors

The Goshen Central Gladiators will face off against the Minisink Valley Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Monday, Goshen Central came up short against Washingtonville and fell 62-49. While losing is never fun, the Gladiators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 498th, while the Wizards are ranked 157th).

Meanwhile, Minisink Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against Washingtonville, falling 78-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since February 15, 2024.

Minisink Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Goshen Central, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Goshen Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Minisink Valley in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 58-55. Does Goshen Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Minisink Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
