Softball Recap: Piedmont Takes a Loss

If Piedmont was feeling good fresh off their 22-5 takedown of Tennyson on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Highlanders took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Eden Monarchs on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Highlanders in their meetings with the Monarchs: they've now lost three in a row.

Piedmont saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miya Fujimoto, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Samantha Ronen was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Piedmont's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Mt. Eden, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.

As of now, neither Piedmont nor the Monarchs have any future games scheduled.
