Basketball Recap: Grand Traverse Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Traverse City Christian last Thursday, Grand Traverse Academy came back down to earth. The Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs were beaten by the Central Lake Trojans 49-20 on Monday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Grand Traverse Academy lost, don't look at Megan Pavwoski. Despite the final result, she posted nine points and five blocks. That was a full 45% of Grand Traverse Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Grand Traverse Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Central Lake, their record now sits at 8-9.

Grand Traverse Academy has already played their next game, a 43-11 loss against Leland on the 11th. Central Lake has also already played their next matchup (against Traverse City Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
