Basketball Recap: Calvert Hall Cardinals vs. Archbishop Curley Friars
The Calvert Hall Cardinals lost to the Archbishop Curley Friars back in November of 2022, but the Calvert Hall Cardinals didn't allow the Archbishop Curley Friars the same satisfaction on Monday. Calvert Hall managed a 44-40 victory over the Friars.
It was another big night for Brendan Johnson, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Calvert Hall's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damir Tucker, who scored two points along with 11 steals.
Calvert Hall's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-15. As for Archbishop Curley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Calvert Hall and the Eagles will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McDonogh is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Archbishop Curley, they will square off against the Admirals at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Severn School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully the Friars like a good challenge.
