Basketball Recap: Mullen Mustangs vs. Pueblo County Hornets
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mullen had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 70-62 win over the Pueblo County Hornets. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mullen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Medina, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 19 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Medina a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Bauer, who shot 46% from the field en route to 23 points.
Mullen was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Pueblo County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cohen Glenn, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points and six rebounds. Harley Harding was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.
Mullen's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Pueblo County, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14.
Mullen has already played their next match, a 64-46 defeat against Standley Lake on the 28th. Pueblo County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
