Preview: Whitko Wildcats vs. Wabash Apaches
Whitko is on a three-game streak of home losses, Wabash a four-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Whitko Wildcats will take on the Wabash Apaches at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitko comes in on a streak of failing to score more than points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Whitko fell victim to Northfield's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 33-0 loss at the hands of the Norsemen. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Whitko in their matchups with Northfield: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Wabash was beaten by Maconaquah 55-13 two Fridays ago.
Wabash's loss came about despite a quality game from Trevor Daughtry, who picked up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The losses dropped both teams to an identical 1-7.
Whitko took a serious blow against Wabash in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 49-0. Thankfully for Whitko, Justin Booth (who picked up 170 receiving yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
