Volleyball Recap: Ella Fritz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Altamonte Christian over the First Academy

Altamonte Christian came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against The First Academy Royals, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-12, 25-15.

Altamonte Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ella Fritz, who had 11 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Hady Payton, who had six digs, two aces, and one block.

Among those leading the charge was Taylor Loveless, who had eight digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high. Maren Moye also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Altamonte Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for The First Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Altamonte Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Conrad Academy on the 2nd. The First Academy has also already played their next matchup (against Crooms Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
