Baseball Recap: Glenpool Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Glenpool, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Sperry Pirates on Thursday as they made off with a 12-4 victory. Considering the Warriors' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Glenpool let Peyton Surrett and Ayden Wade run wild. Surrett got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Wade went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Surrett is becoming a predictor of Glenpool's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 10-15 when he doesn't). Denim Sands was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Glenpool's win bumped their record up to 13-15. As for Sperry, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

Coming up, Glenpool is taking a road trip to face off against Claremore at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sperry, they will square off against Mannford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sperry is facing Mannford at the right time seeing as Mannford is stuck on an 18-game losing streak.
