Soccer Game Preview: Wisdom vs. Cesar E. Chavez

The Wisdom Generals will face off against the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wisdom's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Wisdom's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Westside out 1-0. Given the Generals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Wolves are ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cesar E. Chavez, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Westside by a score of 3-1 on Friday.

Wisdom is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven matchups. As for Cesar E. Chavez, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5-2.
