Softball Recap: Waite Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Waite and Central Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Waite had to settle for second. They lost 19-1 to the Fighting Irish. The Indians were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Fighting Irish's pitchers proved too tough.

Waite saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Fouty, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Waite moved to 5-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Central Catholic, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9.

Waite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Catholic, they will take on Lumen Christi Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Fighting Irish surely won't give up without a fight.
