Soccer Recap: Mt. Pleasant's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Mt. Pleasant's win against Keokuk wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Chiefs on Monday. That's two games straight that Mt. Pleasant have won by just one goal.

The win (which was Mt. Pleasant's third in a row) raised their record to 8-2-1. As for Keokuk, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant will face off against Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Pleasant will be up against Notre Dame's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.25 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Keokuk, they will head out on the road to square off against Fairfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keokuk are facing Fairfield at the right time seeing as Fairfield are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
