Volleyball Recap: Tough Loss for Concord

Concord was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Benicia Panthers.

Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 25-14.

Benicia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lydia Flanagan led the charge by getting 10 assists and four aces. Ali Largaespada was another key player, getting six digs, five kills, and three aces.

Concord has now lost 12 of their last 15 games at home. That leaves them at a 1-11 record this season. As for Benicia, they are now 12-12, having gone 3-4 since their three-game winning streak ended.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Concord is set to challenge their familiar foe Clayton Valley Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Benicia will take on their in-conference opponent Mt. Diablo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
