Softball Game Preview: North Gaston Wildcats vs. Stuart W. Cramer Storm

The North Gaston Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Stuart W. Cramer Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Gaston has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

North Gaston came up short against East Gaston on Wednesday, falling 23-10. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Skylar Smith led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Taylor Postell, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Stuart W. Cramer fell victim to Cherryville and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 15-0 to the Ironmen. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, the Storm's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

North Gaston now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

North Gaston suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Stuart W. Cramer when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can North Gaston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
