Franklinton took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Ponchatoula, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Demons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Green Wave on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Demons have posted since March 28, 2025.

Franklinton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ponchatoula, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Franklinton will be playing in front of their home fans against Northshore at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Demons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ponchatoula, they will take on Pearl River at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rebels' pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Green Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
