Game recap: Hiram High School Football Team takes down Woodland

HIRAM, Ga. - Hiram (Ga.) jumped out to an early lead against Woodland (Cartersville, Ga.) and never looked back on the way to a 42-0 victory on Saturday.

The Hornets put up seven points in the opening frame. Hiram scored on a touchdown run by Julian Dickens.

After taking the lead on a Dickens touchdown run in the first quarter, HHS led 28-0 at the half.

The Hornets expanded their lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. Hiram's lone score in the quarter came on a passing touchdown.

HHS's standout player in the win was Dickens. The senior ran for one touchdown.



The Hornets entered the contest giving up 23.3 points per game this year.

The win was a nice bounce back for Hiram, which lost to Allatoona last week, 20-17.

Hiram (4-5) goes up against New Manchester in a AAAAA Region 5 game matchup next week, while Woodland (2-7) locks horns with Rome also in a AAAAA Region 5 game.
