Basketball Game Preview: Christ the King Crusaders vs. Cherokee Braves

The Christ the King Crusaders will venture away from home to square off against the Cherokee Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christ the King is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season.

Christ the King is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past South Stokes 46-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christ the King to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Broda, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 boards. Broda continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Gorman, who posted eight points in addition to eight steals and six assists.

Meanwhile, Cherokee waltzed into their match on Friday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They breezed past the Yellowjackets to the tune of 78-29. The squad ran away with 67 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Cherokee's win was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.8 points on average over those games. As for Christ the King, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.
