Softball Recap: Sylvan Hills Comes Up Short

Sylvan Hills suffered their biggest loss since May 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Benton Panthers, falling 9-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Zamari Ball - 2026 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered nine runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sylvan Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abbie Mayden - 2026, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Sylvan Hills' loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Benton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-2.

Coming up, Sylvan Hills will head out on the road to square off against Conway at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Benton, they will face off against Bentonville at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
