Cornerstone Charter will be up against a hot River Mill team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Jaguars never let Ascend Leadership get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Wednesday. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by 11 runs or more this season.

Lexi Melton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in triples (two).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Summer Basden, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having also posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maggie Williamson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.
River Mill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone Charter came up short against Clover Garden School on Wednesday, falling 17-6. The Cardinals have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Olivia Croatt made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Shelton, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
River Mill's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cornerstone Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Cornerstone Charter's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: River Mill has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Cornerstone Charter, though, as they've been averaging 12.3 hits. Given River Mill's sizable advantage in that area, the Cardinals will need to find a way to close that gap.
