Baseball Game Preview: West Port Wolf Pack vs. Eastside Rams

The West Port Wolf Pack will head out on the road to square off against the Eastside Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for West Port and 14 for Eastside dating back to last season.

West Port lost 9-3 to Lake Weir on Tuesday.

Kaiden Lavery was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, West Port saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Leppert, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those two hits gave Leppert a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Eastside came up short against Hawthorne on Wednesday, falling 20-5.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for West Port, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Everything went West Port's way against Eastside in their previous matchup back in February, as West Port made off with a 16-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Port since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
