Basketball Game Preview: Fallsburg Comets vs. Eldred Yellowjackets

The Fallsburg Comets will head out on the road to challenge the Eldred Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fallsburg will be strutting in after a win while Eldred will be coming in after a loss.

Fallsburg took a 45-point defeat the last time they faced off against Chester, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Comets skirted past the Hambletonians 38-35. The Comets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Eldred lost 62-40 to Tri-Valley on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost six in a row.

Fallsburg's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Eldred, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Fallsburg suffered a grim 51-31 defeat to Eldred in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
