Football Game Preview: Kuemper Knights vs. Van Meter Bulldogs

The Kuemper Knights will challenge the Van Meter Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kuemper comes in on 12 and Van Meter on seven.

Kuemper is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Wilton, posting a 49-21 win. Considering the Knights have won nine matchups by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kuemper's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Schon, who threw for 403 yards and six TDs while completing 71.1% of his passes. With that strong performance, Schon is now averaging an impressive 337.5 passing yards per game. Kuemper's leading receiver Griffin Glynn was Schon's top target yet again, picking up 182 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Van Meter beat Osage 14-6 on Saturday.

Kuemper's record now sits at 12-0. As for Van Meter, their record is now 10-2.

Kuemper ended up a good deal behind Van Meter in their previous meeting back in October of 2020, losing 35-18. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
