Volleyball Recap: Point Pleasant Find Success

Point Pleasant won the last time they faced Chapmanville Regional and things went their way on Saturday too. The Big Blacks walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Tigers. The game was the first time the Big Blacks have beaten the Tigers on their court since October 15, 2020.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Point Pleasant was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-14.

Leila Mcbeath was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had eight digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high. Macy Taylor also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Point Pleasant was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Point Pleasant now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Chapmanville Regional, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant will take on Ripley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chapmanville Regional, they will square off against Belfry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Pirates have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
