Softball Recap: St. Charles North Extends Winning Streak to Seven

St. Charles North entered their tilt with West Chicago on Saturday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Wildcats. The North Stars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Lauren Seyller tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Abby Zawadzki was a standout: she fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Julianna Kouba, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

St. Charles North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

St. Charles North's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for West Chicago, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Coming up, St. Charles North will face off against Glenbard North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Chicago, they will welcome Riverside-Brookfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
