Baseball Recap: Midlakes Takes a Loss

Midlakes fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Hornell on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 7-6.

Ayden Klapp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Midlakes' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Nick Hunter also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Midlakes' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hornell, their record now sits at 2-8.

Midlakes didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-9 victory against Bishop Kearney on the 12th. As for Hornell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-1 defeat against Wellsville on the 12th.
