Recap: Lincoln Trojans vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves
In what's become a running theme this season, the Lincoln Trojans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They breezed by Woodcreek on the road to the tune of 74-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Lincoln has posted since December 14, 2023.
Quentin Thompson was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Donez Lindsey, who scored 11 points along with five assists and two blocks.
Despite the defeat, Woodcreek saw an underclassman step up: Max VanLaningham scored nine points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Michael Kirby, Jr. was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Lincoln has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Woodcreek, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will take on Tracy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tracy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 733rd, while Lincoln is ranked 60th). As for Woodcreek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against River Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. River Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.7 points per game.
