Baseball Recap: Williamsville East's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Williamsville East fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Williamsville North on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5.

Jaxson Lichner was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jack Stanfield was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. Gabe Chambers also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Williamsville East's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3-1. As for Williamsville North, their record now sits at 9-7-1.

Coming up, Williamsville East is taking a road trip to challenge Frontier at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Williamsville North, they will challenge St. Francis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
