Basketball Recap: Wren Takes a Loss

If Wren was riding high fresh off their 96-43 takedown of Union County on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hurricanes were outmatched by the Dorman Cavaliers and fell 84-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hurricanes have suffered since November 23, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Wren had strong showings from Drey Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine assists, and Kam Rice, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 13 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Levi Ellenburg, who posted seven points.

Wren's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dorman, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wren will face off against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dorman, they will take on Easley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers will need to watch out since the Green Wave have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
