Baseball Recap: Rockridge Rockets vs. Riverdale Rams
Rockridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the Riverdale Rams. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rockridge of the 11-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
Cullen Schwigen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Dye, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Rockridge's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Riverdale, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rockridge will take on Mercer County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mercer County knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Rockridge likes a good challenge. As for Riverdale, they will be playing at home against Rockridge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
