Desert Edge waltzed into their match on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their defense stepped up to hand the Verrado Vipers a 1-0 shutout. The Scorpions wouldn't have won without Tatum Iler, who scored the game-winner.

Desert Edge's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1-1. As for Verrado, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Edge will venture away from home to face off against Sunrise Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Verrado, they will head out on the road to challenge La Joya Community at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Verrado's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
