Softball Recap: Northland Lutheran Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Northland Lutheran nor Tigerton made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Kaydence Marquardt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Northland Lutheran saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Ostrowski, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Northland Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Tigerton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northland Lutheran will face off against Menominee Indian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tigerton, they will square off against Marion at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
