Game recap: Whitney Young High School Football Team beats Schurz

CHICAGO, Ill. - Whitney Young (Chicago, Ill.) and Schurz (Chicago, Ill.) both had great defensive games, but Whitney Young was able to break through the stalemate for a 6-0 win.

The Dolphins scored on a passing touchdown to pull out the win.

The score was knotted at zero heading into the half. Whitney Young took the lead indefinitely on a touchdown pass by David Craan to Christian Everett in the third quarter.

With the win WY extended its winning streak to five games. Whitney Young defeated Roosevelt 49-0 last week.



The defeat comes as a step back for Schurz, who notched a 21-0 victory over Lincoln Park in its previous outing. The loss ended Schurz's three-game winning streak.

Whitney Young (5-0) will play a Chicago Public - Big Shoulders game against Steinmetz next week, while Schurz (3-2) will take on Taft also in a Chicago Public - Big Shoulders game.
