Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask George Washington Prep). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mayfair Monsoons on Wednesday, sneaking past 89-86. The win was all the more spectacular given the Generals' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Monsoons are ranked 126th).

George Washington Prep is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Mayfair, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-4.

George Washington Prep will head out to challenge Dorsey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mayfair, they will host La Mirada at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
