Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gerstell Academy). They enjoyed a cozy 66-51 victory over the Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-50 back in January.

Chapelgate Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Justin Davis, who posted 12 points, and Jonah Ludwig, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 11 points. What's more, Ludwig also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Oscar Holt also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

The win was the third in a row for Gerstell Academy, bringing their record for this year to 14-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points over those games. As for Chapelgate Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record this season.

Coming up, Gerstell Academy will face off against St. Paul's at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Paul's will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Gerstell Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chapelgate Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Concordia Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
