Lakeland Preparatory is headed into Thursday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memphis Business Academy on Monday.

Meanwhile, Memphis Rise Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 5-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Memphis Rise Academy, who have now won three games by five goals or more so far this season.

Memphis Rise Academy pushed their record up to 3-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those three contests. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2-1.
