Softball Game Preview: Conner Cougars vs. Simon Kenton Pioneers

Conner is 2-7 against Simon Kenton since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. Conner has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Conner challenged Cooper on Wednesday. The Cougars lost 20-10 to the Jaguars. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kayla Ortiz was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexa Hamilton, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Simon Kenton didn't have quite enough to beat Lakota East on Tuesday and fell 7-5.
