Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eldred). They walked away with a 73-64 victory over the Fallsburg Comets on Friday. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 76-51 win the Comets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Leading Eldred to victory were Trai Kaufmann and James Deyermond. Kaufmann went 12 for 26 en route to 36 points and seven boards, while Deyermond dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Those 36 points gave Kaufmann a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Gonzalez, who posted three points in addition to seven assists and four steals.

Eldred's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Fallsburg, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Eldred will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chapel Field Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Fallsburg also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Chester at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th.
