Basketball Recap: Jamar Underwood Key Part of a Team Effort in Raiders Win

Riverdale hadn't done well against Mariner recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Riverdale Raiders came out on top against the Mariner Tritons by a score of 61-49. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 70-51 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamar Underwood, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Carter Maki, who earned four points and three steals.

Riverdale's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13. As for Mariner, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Riverdale will challenge Ida Baker at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverdale has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three matches. As for Mariner, they will host Island Coast at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
