Basketball Game Preview: Prairie du Chien Blackhawks vs. Platteville Hillmen

Prairie du Chien and Platteville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Platteville Hillmen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Prairie du Chien has struggled recently with eight defeats in a row, while Platteville will arrive with four straight victories.

Last Friday, Prairie du Chien had to suffer through a 61-31 loss at the hands of Plainview-Elgin-Millville.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Platteville). They came out on top against Evansville by a score of 84-72 on Friday. Given the Hillmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Platteville's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Prairie du Chien, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Things could have been worse for Prairie du Chien, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-48 loss to Platteville when the teams last played back in February.
