The Granada Hills Charter Highlanders will square off against the Carson Colts at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Granada Hills Charter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Venice a 19-0 shutout. The Highlanders are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 12 straight.

Addison Moorman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Granada Hills Charter got a massive performance out of Elysse Diaz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs Diaz has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Lainey Brown, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Granada Hills Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in 12 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Carson had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 11-1 victory. Carson's win was all the more impressive since the Pirates were averaging only 2.71 runs allowed on the season.
Carson also got a great performance from Giselle Pantoja as she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Allen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Letu'U Simi was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Carson's victory bumped their record up to 22-3-1. As for Granada Hills Charter, their win bumped their record up to 27-3.
Carson's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Granada Hills Charter has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game.
