Preview: Lyme Central Indians vs. Copenhagen Golden Knights

The Lyme Central Indians will head out on the road to take on the Copenhagen Golden Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lyme Central is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Last Saturday, Lyme Central was the victim of a rough 56-36 loss at the hands of Jordan-Elbridge. While losing is never fun, Lyme Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 769th, while Jordan-Elbridge is ranked 352nd).

Copenhagen has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 57-34 walloping at the hands of Sackets Harbor Central on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Copenhagen has scored all season.

Samuel Carroll put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Sullivan, who scored nine points along with five assists.

Lyme Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Copenhagen, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

Lyme Central came up short against Copenhagen when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 48-37. Can Lyme Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
