Basketball Recap: Elizabethton Comes Up Short

Elizabethton lost against Science Hill back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones took a hard 68-52 fall against the Science Hill Hilltoppers. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Cyclones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 28th).

Elizabethton dropped their record down to 14-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Science Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elizabethton will challenge Sullivan East at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elizabethton is facing Sullivan East at the right time seeing as Sullivan East is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. Science Hill has already played their next matchup (against Jefferson County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
