Basketball Recap: Aspen Gets the Win

Aspen was handed a 37-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors 39-37.

Among those leading the charge was Brett Eggleston, who posted 16 points. He has also also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Rumbaugh, who earned five points and three steals.

DSST: Green Valley Ranch lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Udy Umo, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Skyyaire Russell was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Aspen now has a winning record of 2-1. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Aspen has already played their next matchup, a 60-34 defeat against Palisade on the 8th. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, they will challenge Colorado Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
