Softball Game Preview: Johnston Dragons vs. Southeast Polk Rams

The Johnston Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Southeast Polk Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southeast Polk took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Johnston, who comes in off a win.

Johnston got their first taste of in-conference action on Monday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 7-4 win over Urbandale. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the J-Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Southeast Polk's offense. They came up short against Valley on Monday, falling 6-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.

Southeast Polk's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Johnston, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Johnston suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Southeast Polk when the teams last played back in June of 2025. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
