Baseball Game Preview: Kickapoo Panthers vs. De Soto Pirates

Kickapoo is 1-9 against De Soto since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Panthers will head out to challenge the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Kickapoo is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game last Monday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Wauzeka-Steuben.

Meanwhile, De Soto unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Viroqua by a score of 7-6.

Bryce Schultz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jackson Trussoni was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Kickapoo's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for De Soto, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Kickapoo might still be hurting after the 17-6 loss they got from De Soto in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
