Basketball Recap: Gainesville Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gainesville can now relate to. They lost 70-49 to the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Red Elephants came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 124th).

Gainesville's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Sprayberry, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Gainesville nor Sprayberry have any future games scheduled.
